In the spirit of “Making Dreams Come True,” a Benefits Supervisor plays an important role in creating a rewarding working environment for employees through the proficient execution of benefits systems and processes as well as oversight of staff. The individual is responsible for supervising staff assigned to the benefits department, executing benefits policies and procedures, accurate and timely processing of employee benefits actions,  supporting annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes, overseeing benefits billing reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of annual benefits filings. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, effective time management, flexibility, empathy, sensitivity to confidential matters, and the ability to interact well with all levels of internal management and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

        Coordinate all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance

        Provide exceptional customer service and act as the primary contact for all benefits related questions, coordinating    with external vendors as necessary

        Process qualified life events in the HRIS system

        Assist employees with health, dental, life and other benefits related claims

        Assist with the creation and/or distribution of materials for orientation, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions

        Conduct benefits orientation and explain the benefits self-enrollment system

        Assist with the open enrollment process

        Support request from Compliance for workers’ compensation claims

        Administer COBRA coverage

        Track FMLA usage

        Assist Benefits Manager in completing benefits reporting

        Verify monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies, reconciling with employee elections in the HRIS,       and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and expenses

        Maintain compliance under HIPPA
