This position is responsible for providing retail sales support at The Villages Grown Retail Store at Brownwood Paddock Square and the Mobile Farmers Market Unit.  The Retail Sales Associate will deliver superior customer service, education-based marketing and adhere to food & human safety protocols to The Villages’ residents (‘Villagers’).  This position is expected to uphold the standards of our company while striving to meet all sales goals and exceed customer expectations.  

Essential Roles/Responsibilities as follows:

Welcome and greet guests

Highly motivated to take on all sales responsibilities with high levels of customer satisfaction

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Introduce promotions, cross-sell and encourage beneficial product add-ons

Engage with The Villages residents about the Vision, Mission and Unique Model (Food-as-Medicine, Hyper-Local, Nutrient-Density, etc.), while educating and guiding them through the purchasing process

Take direction, report to and provide any feedback to the Assistant Retail Store Manager

Restocking the shelves and refrigeration units

Monitor and analyze inventory, while replenishing inventory as needed

Cleaning and sanitizing all refrigeration units on a scheduled basis

Showcase a kind and courteous disposition with every customer encountered as is in line with The Villages global team  

 Availability to work flexible shifts

Attend required staff meetings

Maintain an orderly appearance throughout the sales floor

Process newly received shipments

Operate a point of sale system

Comply with Food Safety Rules

Comply with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies including FDACS, USDA, etc.


In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:

Friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus

Experience in a health food, farm store or gourmet grocer is preferred

A passion for local food required
