Works directly with the Marketing and Magazine Manager to support the initiatives and goals of The Villages Magazine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· General clerical duties including word processing, filing, answer phones, etc.

· Basic accounts receivable and payable bookkeeping responsibilities for the department.

· Maintain an accounting of inventory ordered, received and dispersed.

· Track the use of marketing materials by other departments and external organizations.

· Coordinate the layout and scheduling of promo ads.

· Assist in building The Villages Magazine product and gift guide pages by means of photographing products.

· Scheduling photographers and vendors as needed.

· Answer telephone calls and respond to voice messages for the department

· Maintain various databases including vendors, mailing/email lists, budgets and RSVPs.

· Maintain events scrapbooking and promotional advertisement catalog.

· Create and update promotional and house advertising in any and all media associated with The Villages Media group, including but not limited to The Villages Daily Sun, The Villages Magazine, The Villages Phonebook, WVLG AM640, VNN, etc…

· Provide all support needed during events.

Assist in the development of creative marketing plans and scheduling of promotional ads.

Experience and Requirements:

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two years experience marketing products and/or services or a combination of education and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; especially PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel with experience working with or setting up Excel spreadsheets. Applicant will need to have experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat.  Experience with photography is preferred but not required. Type a minimum of 30 WPM. Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record. Available to work occasional nights and weekends as requested. Must be able to demonstrate creativity and ability to work independently; the ability to multi-task in a high-energy fast paced environment; tenacity in follow-through with excellent organization and attention to detail. Must be able to operate general office equipment such as computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
