Full Time at The Villages Grown

This position is responsible for assisting in the management of The Villages Grown Retail Store in Brownwood Paddock Square and providing assistance to the Retail Operations Manager.  The Assistant Retail Store Manager will provide superior customer service, education-based marketing and food & human safety protocols to The Villages’ residents (‘Villagers’), while also managing a trained Retail team that will adhere to the same protocols.    

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Effectively Train and Manage the Retail support staff

Plan day to day operations

Host weekly meetings with the Retail support staff

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Assist in developing merchandising plans for featured produce and promotional items

Engage with The Villages residents about the Vision, Mission and Unique Model (Food-as-Medicine, Hyper-Local, Nutrient     Density, etc.), while educating and guiding them through the purchasing process

Provide feedback to the Retail Operations Manager including sales forecasts, staffing concerns, operational and inventory issues

Assist the Retail support staff with restocking the shelves and refrigeration units

Monitor and analyze inventory, while replenishing inventory as needed

Discuss Resident feedback, requests, and educational needs with Retail Operations Manager

Attendance at all meetings as required

Assist Retail support staff with cleaning and sanitizing all refrigeration units on a scheduled basis

Showcase a kind and courteous disposition with every customer encountered as is in line with The Villages global team  

Comply with Food Safety Rules and monitor staff compliance

Comply with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies including FDACS, USDA, etc.

Education and requirements:

3 years of Management in Retail required

Experience in a health food, farm store or gourmet grocer is preferred

2 years of driving history

A passion for local food required

- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
