Small Engine Service Tech REQ#4614

at The Villages Golf Cars

In the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, the top candidate for this position is responsible for performing small engine service on gas and electric golf cars.

Successful candidate will need to perform the essential functions of the job:

· Communicate estimate with appropriate person, Service Coordinator/Customer

· Plan work procedure to maintain Quality and Safety

· Adjust points, valves, carburetors, distributors, and spark plug gaps, using feeler gauges

· Reassembles engines after repair or maintenance work is complete

· Records repairs made, time spent, and parts used

· Obtains problem descriptions from customers, and prepares cost estimates for repairs

· Repairs or replaces defective parts such as magnetos, water pumps, gears, pistons, and carburetors

· Sell parts and equipment as needed


In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:


· Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months-one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume

· Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 80lbs
